Jeanne Caldwell is the founder of and
principal consultant for Information Management Specialists,
Inc. (IMS). She is a nationally recognized expert in records/document
systems and records retention. She has worked with over 100
clients to deploy successful systems for their records and
information management programs.
Her company, IMS, implemented one of the very first bar-code tracking systems
for records. She was a pioneer in the use of document management software to
manage electronic records.
Her strength as a Project Team Leader
in consulting projects is in framing the scope and approach
to each consulting project. IMS prides itself on designing
programs that fit the client’s environment and then
using or securing appropriate resources for a successful
implementation. Taking unique approaches to each project
has produced enormous success for IMS clients.
Jeanne received a M.S. in Librarianship and Information
Management, Beta Phi Mu, from the University of Denver,
and a B.A. in Botany from Connecticut College.
She is a Certified Records Manager (CRM). Her professional affiliations

Joan Boyle is a senior consultant
at Information Management Specialists, Inc. (IMS), with
more than twenty-five years experience as a manager and consultant.
She has unique experience in creating systems in chaotic,
resource-limited environments. Joan brings extensive
records and information management systems experience to
clients; as well as diverse industry experience for corporate,
government and non-profit clients. She has been both
a consultant and an in-house information manager.
As Vice President of Operations for an executive search firm, Joan directed day-to-day
office operations, including marketing, research, administration, database and
systems; and she set up policies and procedures for all corporate administrative
activities. At U.S. Generating Company she designed and implemented a company
records program that included operations of an active central records center,
a legal documents system, and offsite archives. Joan oversaw installation of
an automated records management system, defined a database structure, wrote records
policies and procedures, established vital document retention safeguards and
information standards, and trained staff.
At Fitch Investors Services Joan was Vice President, Director of Information
Management. She managed a newly formed, diverse information management program,
with responsibility for developing corporate-wide deal tracking and marketing
databases; and directing technical service group support for network, VAX and
PC operations. Joan has developed and taught records management courses and designed
records management training tools.
Joan graduated from Michigan State University, with a B.A. in Communications
and Marketing, and American University, with a M.S. in Technology and Management.

Kathleen (Joey) Larkin brings over twenty years of technical
librarian experience to Information Management Specialists,
Inc. clients. She has built impressive in-house technology
resource centers that provide in-depth technical research
services. Her research skills include synthesizing and
publishing research results from diverse sources such as
the Internet and commercial databases. She catalogs technical
materials using both in-house systems designed by IMS as
well as the Library of Congress.
Joey graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a
B.A. and from the University of Denver with a Masters in
Library Science.

William (Bill) Raudenbush is a consultant
for Information Management Specialists, Inc. (IMS). He directs
client implementation and conversion projects. He also has
experience with records reviews for the securities industries.
Bill’s education includes recognition in Economics and Debating. He is
currently completing his B.A. at the University of Colorado, Denver.

Charles Rowe is a consultant for
Information Management Specialists, Inc. (IMS). His experience
includes records reviews in the financial services industry
and records center workflow.
Charlie graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a B.A. in English Literature
and Religious Studies.

Karen Sampson is a senior consultant
with Information Management Specialists, Inc. (IMS). She
is the company’s expert on the development and use
of functional retention scheduling. Karen published the first
book on records management for managers: Value-Added Records
Management: Protecting Corporate Assets and Reducing Business
Risks, Quorum Books, 1992, 2003. She is also the author of
High Performance, Low Maintenance Records Retention, a 16-page
issue of the Records and Retrieval Report, November 1995,
Volume 12, Number 9.
Her expertise in all areas of records management is reflected in the publication,
especially her strong communication skills. For IMS clients her communication
skills are used extensively for the development of manuals, policy and procedure
writing, and training. Her professional library and legal backgrounds serve her
well for conducting in-depth legal research for client retention schedules. Karen
has developed numerous complex technical retention schedules using the legal
group methodology. She has had extensive experience in communicating this methodology
to end users and managers.
At US West Information Systems, in Omaha and Denver, Karen implemented a centralized
records management program for use at corporate headquarters, and at each of
the operating centers for this U S West, Inc. subsidiary. The single system approach
enabled corporate headquarters to communicate readily with each operating center,
which resulted in efficient, effective sharing of the corporation’s information
resources. The project integrated all facets of records management, utilized
automated storage and retrieval of information and provided documentation/training
for all systems and procedures.
Karen holds a M.S. in Academic Library Administration, and a B.S. in Secondary
English Education from the University of Illinois.

Sally Severance is a senior consultant
for Information Management Specialists, Inc. (IMS). She is
a software and consulting professional with 30 years experience
in marketing, development, and delivery of solutions, including
software products and related services, hardware, and third
party software products. Sally has analyzed business requirements
and processes and recommended information systems solutions.
She is an expert in electronic document management, records
management systems, and system integration.
Sally’s experience includes: Program and Product Manager at Storage Technology
Corporation, Vice President at Systems Solutions, Director of Records and Information
Management for Pitney Bowes Management Services, and Vice President for Minicomputer
Systems Inc. Ms. Severance has worked with over 20 law firms nationwide providing
strategic consulting as well as document/records management solutions.
She holds a B.A. in Mathematics, Magna Cum Laude, from New Mexico State University.
Her professional affiliations include: Association of Records Managers and Administrators
(ARMA), Denver Chapter, President and Past President; Association for Information

Eric Tanner is a senior consultant for
Information Management Specialists, Inc. (IMS). He has over twenty-five
years of experience, obtained during a balanced career that includes
eight years of government service in two states and the remainder
in the private sector in financial, insurance, and marketing
organizations. Since 1981, Eric has been an information management
consultant. His expertise includes document management system
design, system procurement, system deployment, conversion planning,
and the development of procedures compliant with regulatory authorities,
for active and archival document filing and retrieval systems.
Eric has also designed office and storage area layouts, developed
forms and reports control programs, and conducted staff training
and development.
First involved in electronic image
management in 1983, Eric was Deputy
Project Manager on a consulting
team
evaluating the performance of the
U.S. Army’s
microform-based personnel records system, and recommending new directions to
be taken by the Army in the 1990’s. In 1986, he participated in the first
imaging training sessions conducted by TAB Products Company during the roll out
of the initial offerings in the marketplace. In 1987-88, Eric was responsible
for the installation of the first electronic imaging system in Texas state government.
His responsibilities included research, specification development, vendor evaluation
and all other functions related to the procurement and implementation of the
system. Eric’s imaging experience includes
workflow, Optical Character Recognition (OCR),
Intelligent Character Recognition
(ICR) and bar code
systems. He continually evaluates imaging as it
matures and evolves towards open architecture
and the use of industry standard platforms and
operating systems.
Eric’s micrographics experience encompasses
virtually every form of micrographic technology
in use, including strip, jacket
and updatable
unitized systems, high
volume roll-film computer assisted retrieval (CAR)
systems, and computer output microfilm (COM) systems.
He is also knowledgeable
in computer
output to laser
disk (COLD) systems, a technology that is now supplanting
COM in many organizations.
Eric received a M.A. in United States Diplomatic
History/Political Science and a B.A. in United
States History/Psychology from Texas
Tech University.
He received
a Certificate in Archival Administration from the
University of Denver. He has been a Certified Records
Manager (CRM), since 1980.

Adam Vellinga is a consultant for Information Management Specialists,
Inc. (IMS). He is experienced in records maintenance operations
and conversions to automated systems. He has maintained several
law libraries and managed conversion projects.
Adam graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in
Film Studies. He is a member of ARMA, and the Downtown Denver
Records Managers.

Delores (Dee) Vellinga is a consultant for Information Management
Specialists, Inc. (IMS). She has more than 30 years of senior
management experience in the telecommunications industry.
Dee consults and provides records services expertise for
large law firm records conversion projects. These conversions
have
included various software applications including databases
and specific records management systems. Dee is in charge
of IMS’ law
library maintenance services.
Dee has a BS in Business with a minor in Human Resources from
Regis University, where she received the John Brennan Award for
Excellence in Business, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dee is
a member of ARMA, and Downtown Denver Records Managers.

Margaret (Marge) Wedman is a certified legal assistant and
a staff consultant for Information Management Specialists,
Inc. She is responsible for client records reviews and
is currently directing the review of securities records
for an international financial services company.
Her extensive career includes over twenty-five years of
legal experience, twenty of those years as a paralegal
specializing
in litigation. Her records management experience includes
implementing a corporate records retention schedule for one
of the world’s largest mining corporations. Additionally,
she has managed the complex records issues for a major corporate
merger.

Karen Zoltenko is a staff consultant
for Information Management Specialists, Inc. She has nearly 30
years
experience
in government document
and information management. As an archivist at the Colorado State
Archives, Ms Zoltenko was responsible for the records management
program for the State of Colorado. She was also involved with
the operation of an archives and records center, including accessioning
records and developing finding aids.
Ms. Zoltenko has worked with countless state agencies and local governments in
the development and implementation of records programs. This included analyzing
and appraising document systems, development and implementation of record retention
schedules, recommending new information management systems and the development
of policies and procedures. She has also conducted periodic records management
and vital records protection training sessions for government officials.
Karen holds a M.A. in Social Studies, with an emphasis in History and a B.A in
History and Secondary Education from Western State College. She attended the
Modern Archives Institute and is a Certified Archivist. She is a member of the:
Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA); the Society of American
Archivists (SAA); and the Society of Rocky Mountain Archivists, where she served
as President and Membership Officer.
